Requirements and Expectations of the Intern/Job Description

These will vary with each intern. In general, every intern is responsible to be a good role model for the children. You are expected to care for the children and the property of KBM with thoughtfulness.

A typical day for an intern working with the children –

• Devotion – Attend and periodically lead
• Serve for the team
• Serve with the team
• Minister in the Community
• Work as needed around the mission base

Limits and Boundaries of the Intern
All interns are expected to remember that they represent KBM both on campus as well as off property. We ask that your behavior be that as an ambassador of Christ, our Lord. A Midnight curfew for adult interns will be strictly enforced. Long-term interns may make arrangements for over-night leave and take advantage of the offerings of our beautiful island.

Dress Code
Ladies – shorts at least finger tip length, modestly covered at all times in common rooms of the home, midsection should always be covered and shirts that cover a bra are appropriate, modest bathing suits – one piece or tankini that covers the midsection Remember you will be working with children and most likely bending over quite often. Shirts that do not expose you when you are active are best.

Men – shirts are required at meals, please keep modesty in mind in your clothing Undergarments should be covered by shorts or slacks

What am I allowed to do during my time off?
Please communicate with the directors about leaving the grounds and where you are going. We will be happy to assist with directions and information on the best means to get around. We do ask that you travel in small groups and not by yourself or with a member of the opposite sex alone unless you are a married couple. Please inform another adult whenever you leave the grounds.
